Big Things happening in a small Town

So 2 Weeks ago was the Cimarron Territory Anniversary here. With that comes the Yearly Cow Chip Throwing Championship. Yes, there are people who volunteer to throw Cow Poop to see who throws the farthest and wins! Yay!! I haven’t volunteered yet but maybe in the Future I will. We shall see! But not only did they have the World Championship in Cow Chip Throwing, no, they also had little activities and a Parade going on. Matthew loved the Parade simply for the Fact that they were throwing Candy. He collected lots of Candy. I’m gonna post some pictures of the Parade and of Matthew risking his life getting Candy. It was fun though. It really was nothing Compared to big Cities but for the Small Town of Beaver it was HUGE! I made a troubling discovery! At least for me it’s shocking. I think I start to actually like where I live. Yay Me! I still would prefer living in a City where people don’t think it’s appropriate to Wear their Hunting Gear all Year around. I also don’t find it very attractive to see guys in Full Cowboy Get-Up all the time. Oh well, guess I just gotta have to get used to it.

Now,here are some pictures of the Parade :

First Entry for 2007

Hi,

this is my First Time on Blogger…Have Mercy with me… The picture above shows the Last Snow we had in 2006. The view is from our House..As you can see it’s a pretty small Town..

I lived in Oklahoma for a little over 2 years now and I can honestly say there’s no more Boring Place in the Country of the United States of America than Oklahoma. I’m sure if you love Country Music and the Western Lifestyle, you will love this Place… But if you’re anything like me and come from a Big City in Germany, than you’re gonna Hate it. There’s just nothing to do. If you wanna go shopping we have to drive 30 minutes til we’re in Liberal,Kansas just to go to Walmart. I’m getting really tired of Walmart. But hey, Beaver,Oklahoma (that’s right) is the proud host of the.., are you all ready for this?, yes, it’s the Proud host of the Annual “Cow Chip Throwing World Championship” . Yes,it’s true. Every Year in April they have a bunch of people from all over the States coming here so they can see who can throw some Cow Dung the Farest. Isn’t that exciting. Each year I tell myself ” Alex, this year you have to participate” but each year I also get disgusted by the thought of throwing some Cow Poop around… So, instead I stay home and read a good book or spend some quality time with my son.

So Long My Friends, Alexandra
